Video: The Future of the Legal Blogosphere (And it isn’t Twitter)

I visited the LegalTech show in New York today, sponsored by IncisiveMedia. I was invited into their booth for an interview by Jill Windwer (Vice President, Law.com). The subject was yesterday’s post on The Future of the Legal Blogosphere.

This is the video version:

  1. Caught the video of your interview. The more I look at it, the more I read on twitter about ltny, the more I see the ridiculous statements like “twitter will be bigger” than TV, the more I am backing away.

When it comes to PI attorneys, certainly the listserves have and will be king.

I see websites as still for the most part untapped when it comes to PI lawyers. Refinement and correct use of web advertising is still in baby steps for certain niches of PI law.

Lawyers don’t just send their file clerks to argue supreme court cases; lawyers don’t rely on a temp to close a potential client, yet lawyers shuffle off their $$$ to some entity that does not know their business.

Looking at how the basics are being handled – and mastering the basics – is key before moving on to something that is the flavor of the month.

Agreed. I think the enthusiasm shows a desire for more social networking, but the platform isn’t as good as other possibilities. It will be superseded, just as Google blew away Yahoo.
